Before transitioning into software engineering, I was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, where I led, trained, and mentored teams. During my time in service, I used software in almost every aspect of my job to include tracking personnel and equipment, communicating long-range, and training my team. Seeing how big of an impact technology was having on my daily life and career, I taught myself how to code to understand the software I used. Once I started coding, I was instantly hooked and knew I wanted to continue in hopes of satisfying my intellectual curiosity and building something to solve real-world problems.
